Trowa Christopher Harris

Trowa Christopher Harris, known in the comics community as TC Harris, is a writer, editor, and publisher who co-founded and co-edits the Noir Is the New Black anthology series at FairSquare Graphics alongside publisher Fabrice Sapolsky. A passionate community organizer who defines himself as a "passionate Black man with a desire to uplift his community," Harris has been deeply embedded in the comics industry through years of convention participation and community engagement across New York City, Baltimore, and the East Coast.

Harris co-created Noir Is the New Black with Sapolsky as a direct response to the racial injustice of 2020, building an anthology series exclusively by Black creators telling Black noir stories. The first volume, published in 2021, received a Publishers Weekly starred review and sold over 5,000 copies, establishing it as one of the most successful Black-led anthology series in independent comics. Harris also contributed a story to the anthology — "The Circuit," illustrated by David Brame — about African American entertainers navigating Jim Crow conditions in the 1950s and '60s South.

Season 2 of Noir Is the New Black continued expanding the series with new stories, new creators, and a Kickstarter-backed series finale. Harris serves as co-creator, editor, executive producer, and writer across the full series.

In 2026, the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards celebrated its most diverse nominee class in the 38-year history of the awards, with a historic number of Black creators nominated across categories. Harris received a 2026 Eisner nomination for Best Anthology for Noir Is the New Black Season 2 (FairSquare Graphics), which he co-created and co-edits. The nomination marks over 8,000 copies sold across the series' run.
