Sanford Greene is an Eisner and Ringo Award-winning comic book artist and co-creator born in Greeleyville, South Carolina, and based in Columbia, SC. He is co-creator and artist of Bitter Root (Image Comics) with David F. Walker and Chuck Brown, which won the Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series in both 2020 and 2022 and is being adapted as a film produced by Ryan Coogler and directed by Regina King. Greene has worked for every major comics publisher, including Marvel (Power Man & Iron Fist, Black Panther, Luke Cage), DC, Dark Horse, and Image. He contributed character design to the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated trilogy and his Harriet Tubman artwork was acquired by the South Carolina State Museum. He is a Benedict College alumnus.
