Nnedi Okorafor is a Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Locus, and Lodestar Award-winning author and comic book writer born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Igbo Nigerian immigrant parents. She holds dual American and Nigerian citizenship. She wrote the Africanfuturist comic series LaGuardia (Dark Horse), which won both an Eisner Award and a Hugo Award. She has also written Marvel comics including the Shuri series and Black Panther: Long Live the King. She was inducted into the Museum of Pop Culture Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2024, and is a professor of practice at Arizona State University.
