Mike Davis

Mike Davis is the co-founder and co-owner of Blerds Underground — a Black-owned comic book shop in La Grange, Illinois, that opened in September 2022 alongside co-founder Marcell Kirk. Blerds Underground describes itself as 'the dopest spot in the multiverse to buy comics and collectibles,' operating with a mission to make the comics industry more inclusive and accessible. Davis and Kirk built the shop as an explicitly community-driven space for Black nerds and the broader comics community, and the store has become a recognized destination in the Chicagoland area. Davis is also a contributor and regular presence in the Black Comic Lords (BCL) community, participating in the platform's ongoing promotion and celebration of Black comics culture.
