Micheline Hess is a New York City-born writer, artist, and designer who began her comics career in the early 1990s as a colorist at Milestone Comics. She is the creator of the children's adventure comic Malice in Ovenland (Rosarium Publishing), The Anansi Kids Club, The All Saints Day Adventure, and the graphic novel Diary of a Mad, Black, Werewolf. In 2022 she was selected by the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture to design the artwork for its 10th Annual Black Comic Book Festival. Her work has also appeared in The New Yorker.
