Julius Schwartz (June 19, 1915 – February 8, 2004) was an American comic book editor and science fiction agent whose influence on DC Comics is nearly impossible to overstate. Born in the Bronx, New York, Schwartz was the architect of the Silver Age, overseeing the revival of the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, the Atom, and the Justice League, and later revitalizing Batman and Superman. He began as one of the first science fiction literary agents, representing Ray Bradbury and H.P. Lovecraft, before joining DC in 1944. Schwartz edited DC Comics for six decades. He was inducted into the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1997.
