Jacque Aye is a Nigerian-American comic artist, writer, and creator. Born in Kansas and raised in Dallas, she founded the lifestyle brand Adorned by Chi in 2015, which grew into the anime-inspired webcomic of the same name, rooted in Igbo culture and the magical girl genre. She is the author of The Magical Girl's Guide to Life (Ulysses Press) and the afro-surrealist novel How to Be a Better Adult. In 2024 she wrote Monster High: New Scaremester for IDW. She is also the creator of the Substack newsletter Diary of a Sad Black Woman, which has over 32,000 subscribers.
