Herb Trimpe (May 26, 1939 – April 14, 2015) was an American comic book artist who spent nearly three decades as one of Marvel's most reliable and beloved creators. Born in Peekskill, New York, Trimpe is best known for his seven-year run penciling The Incredible Hulk and for drawing Wolverine's first full appearance in Incredible Hulk #181 (1974). A staff artist at Marvel from 1967 to 1996, he contributed art to virtually every major Marvel title and later became a licensed Episcopal deacon who served as a chaplain at Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks.
