Eve L. Ewing is a writer, sociologist, and cultural organizer born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She wrote the Marvel series Ironheart (2018), centered on Riri Williams. In 2023, she became the first Black female author of the Black Panther series at Marvel. She also wrote Exceptional X-Men. Beyond comics, she is an associate professor at the University of Chicago and the author of the award-winning poetry collections Electric Arches and 1919, and the nonfiction book Ghosts in the Schoolyard.
