Dick Giordano (July 20, 1932 – March 27, 2010) was an American comics artist and editor whose career at both Charlton Comics and DC Comics made him one of the most influential figures of the Bronze Age. Born in Manhattan, New York, Giordano rose to editor-in-chief at Charlton, where he nurtured talent including Jim Aparo and Denny O'Neil, before joining DC in 1968. He later returned to DC as executive editor, overseeing landmark works including The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen. As an inker, he was the definitive embellisher of Neal Adams' Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow work. He received multiple Shazam Awards and was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2002.
