Dan Parent is an American comic book artist, writer, and cartoonist who has worked at Archie Comics since 1987, making him one of the longest-tenured creators in the company's history. He is best known as the creator of Kevin Keller — Archie Comics' first openly gay character — introduced in Veronica #202 (2010) and subsequently given his own ongoing series Kevin Keller (2012-2013), making it the first Archie Comics series to feature an openly gay lead character.
Kevin Keller's introduction was a significant moment in mainstream comics representation, earning Parent and Archie Comics widespread attention and a GLAAD Media Award. Parent is openly gay himself. He has written and illustrated hundreds of Archie Comics stories across the entire line throughout his career.
