ChrisCross (born Christopher Emmanuel Williams on June 23, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York) is an Inkpot Award-winning comic book artist whose career spans three decades of landmark work at Milestone, Marvel, and DC Comics. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, breaking into the industry in 1991 with Malibu Comics on Cat & Mouse before being hired by Milestone Media in 1993 — where he became one of the defining artists of the pioneering Black-owned publisher, with extended runs on Blood Syndicate, Icon, Hardware, and Worlds Collide. His mainstream career deepened with a long-running collaboration with writer Peter David on Captain Marvel at Marvel Comics (1999–2004), widely considered one of his signature achievements, as well as a prominent run on Slingers. At DC Comics, ChrisCross is perhaps best known for penciling the relaunched Firestorm (Vol. 3), and has also contributed to JLA, Outsiders, Batwing, Supergirl, Action Comics, Green Lantern Corps, and Superman/Batman. He has also worked for Valiant Entertainment, IDW Publishing, Top Cow, Dark Horse, and Lion Forge Comics.
In 2026, the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards celebrated its most diverse nominee class in the 38-year history of the awards, with a historic number of Black creators nominated across categories. ChrisCross received an Eisner nomination for Best Anthology as the artist on The Winterfields, a story within Noir Is the New Black Season 2 (FairSquare Graphics), written by Joseph Illidge and colored by Andrew Dalhouse.
