Alex Simmons is a New York-based writer, educator, and comics creator best known as the creator of the adventure mystery series BlackJack. A longtime presence at ECBACC and a tireless advocate for comics literacy, Simmons has spent decades conducting workshops for young creators in schools and community spaces. He won the 2010 Glyph Award for Best Writer and the 2016 Glyph Award for Best Male Character for BlackJack.
