Summary
Trill League is an independent comic book series and brand created by Chicago-born artist and illustrator Anthony Piper — a parody combining superheroes, anime aesthetics, hip-hop culture, and Black urban experience. Originally conceived as social media fan art reimagining DC's Justice League characters with humor and 'urban edge,' the concept went viral, trending on Google and generating thousands of shares before becoming a fully published comic series. Trill League was funded via Kickstarter in 2015, raising over $20,000, and a second campaign in 2018 raised over $20,000. Piper has worked professionally for Marvel Comics (X-Men Gold, Uncanny X-Men Annual, Invincible Iron Man/Riri Williams), served as Lead Character Designer on Axe Cop, and worked with artists including SiR, Method Man, and 50 Cent. A Trill League animated series adaptation was announced in partnership with 50 Cent and Lionsgate for the Quibi platform. Trill League is published and sold directly through trillleague.com.
