Alison Bechdel is a lesbian cartoonist and author best known for the long-running comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For and the graphic memoir Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic (2006). She is the originator of the Bechdel Test. She received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2014.
