Marcell Kirk is a co-owner of Blerds Underground, a Black-owned comic book and collectibles store in La Grange, Illinois. Kirk and his partner Mike Davis — both self-described Blerds (Black Nerds) — opened Blerds Underground in September 2022 with a mission to make the comics industry more inclusive and accessible. The store actively celebrates and elevates the voices of Black and POC creators, providing a community-first space that challenges who gets to be centered in nerd culture.
