Tyler Chin-Tanner is a comic book writer, publisher, and educator who co-founded A Wave Blue World (AWBW) in 2005 with his wife Wendy Chin-Tanner. A graduate of The Kubert School (2003–2006), Tyler co-founded AWBW the same year they married, handing out copies of their first comic Adrenaline as wedding favors. Under AWBW he has written graphic novels including the New York Times-featured American Terrorist (co-written with Wendy), Mezo (a Mesoamerican-inspired fantasy epic), and The Orphan King, and has edited anthologies including All We Ever Wanted, Dead Beats, and Embodied. He signed AWBW with Diamond Book Distributors in 2018. Tyler also opened W.C. Art and Independent Publishing Resource Center in downtown Brooklyn, a brick-and-mortar art store and creator space. He has delivered keynote speeches at the Comic Creator Conference and advocates publicly for independent comics publishing and direct-to-reader distribution models.
