Curt Swan (February 17, 1920 – June 17, 1996) was an American comic book artist whose decades-long run drawing Superman made him the most definitive visual interpreter of the character during the Silver and Bronze Ages. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Swan's warm, expressive rendering of Superman set the standard for how the character looked for an entire generation of readers. His collaborative run with inker Murphy Anderson — dubbed 'Swanderson' by fans — produced some of the most celebrated Superman stories of the 1970s. He worked on Superman from the late 1940s through 1985 and contributed to the posthumous tribute Superman: The Wedding Album in 1996.
