Yumy Odom is the founder of the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC), the most important annual gathering in the Black independent comics community. Founded in 2002 and held annually in Philadelphia, ECBACC is the home of the Glyph Comics Awards and has served for over two decades as the premier platform for Black comic creators to connect with readers, retailers, and fellow professionals. Odom has lectured extensively on the importance of Pan-African imagery in world mythology. His founding of ECBACC helped establish Philadelphia as a central hub of the Black comics movement.
